Directed by Julie Taymore, 'Across the Universe' is a romantic musical told mainly through Beatle songs performed by the actors. Jude, a young man from liverpool, travels to America in search for his father. There, he befriends with Max, a college dropout, and falls in love with Lucy, Max's younger sister. A story set in the late 1960s, years of anti-war protest, mind exploration and rock'n roll, the movie moves from Liverpool to psychedelic Greenwich Village, from the riots of the streets of Detroit to the killing fields of Vietnam.
